✍️ About this Substack
Welcome. I'm a French economist and writer who has spent over two decades participating in public debate across France and the wider Francophone world. This publication is born from a deep commitment to a tradition too often neglected in modern discourse: classical liberalism.
Inspired by thinkers such as Tocqueville, Constant, Aron, Berlin, and de Staël, I aim to offer a distinctly European voice—rooted in the Enlightenment, open to the world, and grounded in the values of individual liberty, rule of law, innovation, and free exchange.
In an age increasingly dominated by imperial logic—where power politics, nationalism, and authoritarianism are on the rise—this newsletter seeks to defend and rearticulate the principles of liberal democracy.
What you can expect:
Weekly essays (in English) offering analysis of transatlantic affairs and global trends
Reflections on liberal thought, from the Enlightenment to today
Occasional book recommendations and cultural insights
A tone that’s intellectually serious but never dogmatic
Whether you're a policy thinker, a curious citizen, or simply someone looking for a different lens on world affairs, you're in the right place.
Trust in the future—and thanks for reading.
